The 2022-Up Toyota Tundra EXP Series front shock absorbers by ICON Vehicle Dynamics combine the performance of a fully rebuildable 2.5-inch diameter premium shock absorber with the convenience and cost-benefits of re-using the Tundra’s factory coil spring and other components. EXP bridges the gap between spacer lifts and threaded bodied coilovers, providing suspension lift, custom-tuned performance and maximum travel, all in an economical package.
EXP Series is based on ICON’s proven 2.5-inch diameter Aluminum Series shock absorber, featuring a one-piece impact-extruded aluminum shock body. Hard anodizing provides a great-looking, consistent finish with superior resistance to abrasion and corrosion. The massive 7/8-inch diameter shaft is induction hardened and chrome plated. EXP shocks use the factory shaft-up orientation, with the shaft ends machined to re-use the Tundra’s OE upper shock and spring mounts.
The 6061-billet aluminum coil spring seat is CNC machined to fit the molded heavy duty urethane coil spring seat that is specifically designed to fit the Tundra’s OE coil spring. A series of snap-ring grooves machined into the shock body provide easily-selectable front-end ride height adjustment from 0" to 3” of lift over stock.
EXP Series shocks utilize a one-piece digressive piston design and are custom tuned for the Tundra in conjunction with their stock front coil springs to maximize damping performance and provide unsurpassed ride quality, on and off-road. The increased piston size and shock oil volume provided by the 2.5-inch diameter aluminum body also provide superior heat dissipation compared to the smaller, steel bodied OE shocks, resulting in longer-lasting shock performance over prolonged use at higher speeds and through rougher terrain. For those who would like to further tune their suspension, EXP shocks are fully re-valvable (and rebuildable) by any qualified shock technician, with parts available from ICON.

What our Experts Think
- A smart performance upgrade for the 2022-2026 Toyota Tundra. The ICON Vehicle Dynamics 0-3" Front EXP Coilover (58671) delivers improved suspension control, adjustable lift height, and off-road capability while reusing the factory coil springs.
- Adjustable 0-3" front lift range. Snap-ring height adjustment lets you fine-tune your Tundra’s stance, improve clearance, and prepare for larger tire setups without committing to a full coilover conversion.
- Premium 2.5 EXP Series shock technology. Features a large-diameter aluminum shock body, internal reservoir, and increased oil capacity for better heat control and consistent damping during demanding driving.
- Keeps factory spring convenience. Designed to work with OEM front coil springs and hardware, making it an excellent option for leveling and lift applications with a cleaner installation process.
- Built for street and trail performance. Vehicle-specific tuning improves ride quality, handling, and suspension response compared with factory shocks, especially during off-road use.
- Ready for larger tires. Supports aggressive setups, including up to 35-inch tires with proper wheel fitment and required modifications.
- Fully rebuildable and tunable. ICON’s EXP design allows future servicing and re-valving, making it a long-term suspension investment for enthusiasts.
- Important fitment note. Not compatible with TRD Pro or AVS-equipped Tundra models; lifts above 2.25" may require upgraded upper control arms for proper alignment.
- Best for: Tundra owners who want a premium front suspension upgrade with adjustable lift, improved ride control, and off-road-ready performance without replacing the entire suspension system.
Q&A
Q: What vehicles does the ICON Vehicle Dynamics 58671 fit?
A: This front EXP coilover suspension system is designed for 2022–2026 Toyota Tundra models with compatible suspension configurations.
Q: How much lift does the ICON 58671 provide?
A: The front EXP coilover offers an adjustable 0–3 inch lift range, allowing you to customize ride height, stance, and ground clearance.
Q: What are the benefits of ICON EXP coilovers?
A: They improve suspension control, ride quality, off-road capability, and handling while providing adjustable height settings for different driving needs.
Q: Are these coilovers suitable for daily driving?
A: Yes. ICON EXP coilovers are engineered to provide improved performance on trails while maintaining comfortable street drivability.
Q: Can I install larger tires with these coilovers?
A: Yes. The adjustable lift range can provide additional clearance for larger wheel and tire combinations. Final fitment depends on tire size, wheel offset, and vehicle setup.
Q: Can the ride height be adjusted after installation?
A: Yes. The adjustable coilover design allows ride height tuning to achieve the preferred vehicle stance and suspension setup.
Q: Do these coilovers improve off-road performance?
A: Yes. They enhance suspension travel, damping control, stability, and overall performance on uneven terrain.
Q: Do these coilovers increase towing or payload capacity?
A: No. Performance coilovers improve suspension control and ride quality but do not increase the Toyota Tundra’s factory towing or payload ratings.
Maintenance Tips
- Inspect front coilovers, springs, shocks, and mounting hardware regularly for wear or damage.
- Check all bolts, nuts, and fasteners periodically to ensure proper torque and security.
- Keep coilovers clean and free from dirt, mud, salt, and road debris.
- Inspect components after off-road driving, towing, or heavy loads for signs of stress.
- Check for oil leaks, unusual noises, or changes in ride quality.
- Maintain proper suspension alignment to promote even tire wear and stable handling.
- Verify coilover height settings and ensure they remain properly adjusted.
- Inspect bushings, mounts, and hardware for looseness or excessive wear.
- Check suspension clearance to prevent rubbing or interference with tires and steering components.
- Service coilovers according to manufacturer recommendations for long-term performance.
- Avoid exceeding your Toyota Tundra's manufacturer-rated GVWR and suspension limits.
