ICON Vehicle Specific (V.S.) 2.5 Aluminum Series shocks are designed and built to give your vehicle outstanding performance off-road and a smooth ride on the street. These shocks are configured specifically for each application in both length and damping tune. Like all ICON'S Shock Absorbers, V.S. 2.5 Aluminum Series shocks are fully rebuildable and re-tunable. For piggyback and specific remote reservoir applications, ICON'S unique use of a 6061-billet aluminum manifold a few inches below the top cap of the shock creates an internal Bump Zone that when used creates an additional 20% of damping force. This additional force helps prevent harsh bottom outs and controls the suspension when compressing at high velocity. If you are looking for a more user defined tune, consider looking into the Compression Damping Control Valve (CDCV) shocks.
Features
- ICON’s internal “Bump Zone” increases damping by 20% to provide more control as the shock approaches full compression
- Remote reservoir design improves heat dissipation to reduce shock fade during prolonged use
- One-piece, hard anodized, impact extruded aluminum cylinders offer excellent corrosion resistance and consistent finish
- Premium grade 5WT shock oil for consistent suspension damping along a wide temperature range
- Nitrogen charged monotube design with piggyback reservoir
- One-piece digressive piston design with vehicle specific valving for unsurpassed performance and ride quality on and off-road
- All ICON 2.5 Series Piggyback and Remote Reservoir shocks can be upgraded to ICON’s Compression Damping Control Valve (CDCV)
- 7/8” diameter induction hardened, chrome plated shock shaft
- PTFE lined spherical bearings and application specific mounting hardware
- 6061 aircraft grade aluminum CNC machined components
- Fully rebuildable and re-tunable
What our Experts Think
- A premium rear suspension upgrade. ICON’s 2.5 VS Remote Reservoir Shocks are designed to deliver improved ride comfort, stability, and off-road control for the 2023+ Toyota Sequoia.
- Built for extended adventures. The remote reservoir design increases cooling capacity, helping reduce shock fade during long off-road trips, towing, and demanding terrain.
- Vehicle-specific performance tuning. ICON engineers each shock length and damping profile specifically for the Sequoia platform, providing a balanced blend of street comfort and trail capability.
- Handles rough terrain with confidence. The internal Bump Zone technology increases damping force near full compression, helping control hard impacts and reduce harsh bottom-outs.
- Durable and serviceable design. Features include 6061 aircraft-grade aluminum CNC components, a nitrogen-charged monotube design, corrosion-resistant shock bodies, and fully rebuildable construction for long-term use.
- Ideal for lifted or upgraded Sequoias. Compatible with 0–1" rear lift applications on 2023+ Sequoias equipped with rear coil springs, making it a strong choice for maintaining performance without excessive lift.
- Best suited for: Sequoia owners looking for a high-quality rear shock upgrade that improves handling, ride quality, towing confidence, and off-road capability while retaining daily drivability
Q&A
Q: What vehicles are these rear shocks compatible with?
A: Designed for 2023+ Toyota Sequoia models with rear coil springs. Not compatible with vehicles equipped with Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS).
Q: What lift range do these shocks support?
A: These rear 2.5 VS RR shocks are designed for 0–1 inch of rear lift on 2023+ Sequoia models with rear coil springs.
Q: What are the benefits of ICON 2.5 VS RR shocks?
A: They improve off-road control and street comfort with vehicle-specific valving, remote reservoirs for better heat management, and a larger 2.5-inch shock body for consistent performance.
Q: Are these shocks rebuildable?
A: Yes. ICON 2.5 Series remote reservoir shocks are fully rebuildable and re-tunable for long-term performance.
Q: What is the purpose of the remote reservoir?
A: The remote reservoir increases oil capacity and helps reduce heat buildup, minimizing shock fade during extended off-road driving.
Q: Do these shocks include CDCV adjustment?
A: No. These are standard VS RR shocks, but they can be upgraded with ICON compression damping adjusters such as CDCV.
Q: Are these shocks a direct bolt-on upgrade?
A: Yes. They include application-specific mounting hardware and are designed as a direct replacement for compatible Sequoia applications.
Maintenance Tips
- Inspect rear shocks, remote reservoirs, reservoir hoses, and mounting hardware every 5,000 miles or after heavy off-road use.
- Clean shock bodies and shafts with mild soap and water to remove mud, salt, and debris; avoid pressure washing directly at the shock seals.
- Check for oil leaks, damaged hoses, loose fasteners, or unusual suspension noise, and re-torque hardware to ICON specifications as needed.
- Verify suspension components and rear ride height after installation or following hard off-road impacts.
- Avoid using damaged or leaking shocks, as this can reduce ride quality and suspension performance.
- Service or rebuild the shocks at recommended intervals based on driving conditions to maintain optimal damping performance and longevity.
